Statement from Áras an Uachtaráin to students who participated in the Leaving Certificate examinations.

President Michael D Higgins said today, “I want to compliment all those students who participated in the Leaving Certificate examinations. Today is one important moment in their lives. I have every confidence that young people will develop all of their talents in different ways.
My wish for them is that they never lose confidence in what they can achieve personally and with others in shaping the future together.
In organising the Being Young and Irish 2012 initiative, I was keen to hear the voices of young people and to encourage them to take charge of the changes, which are necessary. Young people in Ireland and elsewhere will create a whole new world with their varied and important contributions.”
