President hosts New Year’s Reception for members of the Diplomatic Corps

On Wednesday, 27th January, 2016 President Michael D. Higgins hosted a New Year's Greetings ceremony for members of the Diplomatic Corp at Áras an Uachtaráin.
In his speech, the President reflected on the challenges facing the international community and highlighted the steps to be taken if the new international agreements on international development, as contained in the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris agreement on climate change, are to be implemented.
