President to host special Patrons' Concert

President and Sabina Higgins will today host a special Patrons' Concert at Áras an Uachtaráin.

The concert, which begins at 7 pm and takes place in the gardens of the Áras is a special concert, of music and spoken word, featuring artists associated with many of the cultural organisations of which the President is the Patron.

Some 600 representatives from a large number of organisations of which the President is a Patron have been invited to Áras an Uachtaráin for the event, which the President intends as a tribute to the valuable work done by civil society organisations in Ireland.

The concert will include performances by Irish/Syrian ensemble Navá, poets Theo Dorgan and Paula Meehan, and the RTE National Symphony Orchestra (David Brophy conducting) assisted by the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland. Eileen Dunne will be the Master of Ceremonies.
