Visitors Centre
President Mary Robinson established a Visitor Centre in 1997 in the old kitchens, displaying aspects of the history of the house and its occupants through the years and, in line with the increasing openness of the house to the public, the Centre is being further developed. President Mary McAleese made the decision to invite the public to guided tours of the State Rooms every Saturday, in addition to inviting school groups to attend ceremonial events.
