The President has accepted the invitations of the Heads of State of Peru, Colombia and Cuba to undertake a three country visit to Latin America, to celebrate the deep historic connections and to boost political, cultural and economic ties between Ireland and Latin America. 

The visit is based on the Government’s stated desire to develop Ireland’s profile in Latin America and will contribute to a new Government Strategy for Ireland’s relationship with the region, to be published in the Spring of this year.
