President Michael D. Higgins led the Annual 1916 Commemoration Ceremony, taking place at the Church of the Most Sacred Heart Arbour Hill, Dublin.

The ceremony was hosted by the Minister for Defence and consisted of a Requiem Mass and ceremonies at the grave for the 1916 Leaders.

The President laid a wreath to commemorate those who died in 1916, and observed a minute silence.
