President officially opens an exhibition of ten drawings by Leonardo da Vinci

President Michael D. Higgins opened a special exhibition of 10 original drawings by Leonardo da Vinci, on display at the National Gallery of Ireland.

The drawings are part of the Royal Collection owned by Britain's Queen Elizabeth, which  includes more than one million books, paintings, prints, furnishings and other items accumulated by the British royal family over the past 500 years.

In his speech, President Michael D. Higgins said that "this exhibition provides a glimpse into the fascinating world of Leonardo da Vinci, a man whose prolific genius has never ceased to captivate, across the centuries."
